Alzheimer’s Door Alarm with Three Plug-In Remotes
Taking care of an Alzheimer’s patient can pose many significant challenges, and safety is always a high priority. While personal monitoring around the clock might seem impossible, the sophisticated range of monitors and alarms at the Alzheimer’s Store can help you keep your family member safe 24 hours of the day, seven days of the week.
Our Alzheimer’s motion detector with remote alarm is an exceptional product that can keep track of your loved one’s movements. The remote alarm comes with a high-performance transmitter and receiver set that can be customized to monitor a room or selected area, depending on your individual requirements. The versatility, reliability and convenience of this alarm makes it instrumental in reinforcing Alzheimer’s wandering prevention.
How The Door Alarm works:
(watch our video below)
When a monitored door is opened
the transmitter sends a signal to the receiver/alarm that mo
nitor two, three or plugs into any
standard AC wall outlet in your bedroom, kitchen, den, etc. You can use one set
to guard one door or buy extra transmitters to more doors. Additional receiver/alarms can also be
purchased separately and placed in different areas of the house to add extra
assurance that no alert will go unheard. All of them will sound if any monitored
door is opened.
There are three Alarm Settings:
CHIME - When set on CHIME and a monitored door is opened,
the electronic chime sounds
- MELODY - When set on MELODY selected
tune will play once, no more. It resets once door is closed. Tunes are listed
- ALARM - When set on ALARM the warning will sound
and continue to sound for four
minutes or until it is turned off,
after the door is closed
The ALARM setting has a two second delay. So if you happen to make a mistake
you can quickly close the door and the alarm won’t go off.
Caregivers tell us that they also like using The Door
on kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors. If a loved one goes into
a cabinet (perhaps at night when the caregiver is asleep) the alarm instantly
and unmistakably alerts the caregiver.
Caregiver Tip: On an exit door, use the door alarm in
conjunction with a chain lock (purchased at your hardware store or local home
improvement center). This type of lock allows the door to open just far enough
to set off the alarm, but not enough to let the person
Melody Tune Options: To change the melody remove the back cover from the Transmitter by pushing on the bottom locking tab. Insert a screwdriver into the slot at the bottom of the front cover. Press in and slightly pull back to remove cover. Press the FLEX Tab on the inside of the transmitter and the receiver will automatically play the next selection. To continue changing the melody, press the tab once again.
